Living in the 21st Century means being aware of one’s role in the society. More specifically, being aware that the world is a global community and we’re all global citizens. We need to think critically of our role and place in the world, and foster positive relationships with communities beyond the micro community we live in. To do this, we need to hone empathy, critical thinking skills, and become appreciative of diversity and the different ranges of perspectives. English teaching is the perfect platform to instill these values in our learners.
In this webinar, we will first define global citizenship and its importance in today’s world, and we will look at the different ways to apply citizenship skills in the ELT classroom.
